I shouldn’t feel so stupid. It was a two-way thing.

We had a year-plus, not a fling.

Anyone I’d been with before.

And not just because I felt it due,

Or something like that, no, not, and nor,

Our like was mutual (or at least I thought),

We spent time flirting, an awful lot,

We didn’t know until we’d caught

Each other what had been in store.

You don’t have the maturity,

To grace the halls of your beauty,

But no more, never now, no more.

I’m new to this heart exposure.

Of our bond I was so sure, so sure,
