The Sound of Progress

                "You know what my favorite thing about Muggles is, Severus?"

                "The post? The rubber ducks? The fact that they make you almost seem normal?"

                Arthur just smiled, hands occupied with something behind his back. "No, though I admit I'm rather fond of rubber ducks."

                "I believe I've established I'm aware of that. Now, what is it, Arthur, really?"

                "Close your book and come upstairs, yeah?" Arthur smiled at him, and Severus had no choice but to comply. Who'd told the man his smile had such an effect on the lonely potions master?

                Arthur waited for him to go upstairs first, then following him, keeping his prize hidden. "This place could do with a bit of color, you know," said Arthur, looking about.

                "Yes, I suppose so," said Snape tightly.

                "Don't dally, Sev, love, get undressed."

                Snape raised an eyebrow but complied with these wishes. There was little he denied Arthur, silly and Muggle-loving as he was. "I still don't see where this is going."

                "Precisely my intention. On the bed, please, darling."

                "And then you'll show me what you've got there?"

                "Behind my back? Oh yes, I'll do much more than showing. Er, but if you get mad at me, you'll not do me harm, promise. Let us have a safe word. What's something you wouldn't say, you know, during, such things?"

                "Something I will not say 'you know, during, such things'," Snape mocked, "will end up being 'Arthur' if you don't out with it. Did you think me the patient sort?"

                "Nope!" said Arthur brightly, "And that's why I have these!" He raised Muggle handcuffs.

                "Handcuffs? This is all over handcuffs?"

                "No, no," said Arthur, "you'll notice I've still got a hand behind me."

                "Alright, I'll go with this," said Snape, undressing and lying back on the bed. "What's my word, then?"

                "Er . . . ."

                "You're making me have one. The least you could do is come up with it."

                "The Underground?" suggested Arthur.

                Severus sneered. "Alright, then. Now, tie me up. Honestly, I want to get back to reading."

                "For now," said Arthur with a soft smirk as he threw the handcuffs onto the bed, drawing his wand from his pocket to secure them around Severus's nicely bared wrists and hook the chain between them to the headboard.

                "Now, where's this Muggle invention?"

                "There's two, actually."

                "Two?"

                "Yes, yes. First, this item," he drew from behind his back some flavored lubricant, causing Severus to raise an eyebrow. Arthur cast a sterilization spell on the lube, just to make sure it was safe. He cast the same spell on the object still behind his back.

                "It tastes like strawberry. Isn't that extraordinary?"

                "Er . . . I suppose so."

                "Well, anyway, this will be extraordinary. Remember, the word's 'the Underground'. Rest assured I know what I'm doing for once, though."

                "We'll see."

                Arthur just smiled gently at him. He pulled from behind his back . . . a metal wand.

                "What on earth is that?"

                "This, love, is called a sound. It's sort of like a wand, only its magic is more . . . metaphorical than actual."

                "Then it isn't a wand. And here I thought they were advanced."

                "Well, here's to progress," said Arthur. He coated both the sound and Severus's prick with lube, stroking him gently a couple times, leaning in and licking at the side of it once. "Very nice. Oh, Muggles are so inventive. Here, love, this is the hard part."

                "What are you going to do with—oh!" said Snape as the very tip of the sound was pushed into him, Arthur holding both him and it very carefully.

                "Alright?"

                Severus could only whimper in reply.

"I, er, suppose that's why it's called a sound." Arthur grinned when Severus glared up at him. The glare had none of its usual punch as Severus tossed his head back.

"Oh God!" he groaned as it slipped in even further. Arthur had a careful hold over it so it wouldn't get lost in him, but it wasn't like he had many concerns himself at the moment.

Arthur pulled it out a bit, letting it slip back in through the power of gravity. Severus's muscles were all straining, and he was crying out with each movement of it inside of him. It wasn't much longer Severus moaned Arthur's name, then added, through nearly unintelligible pants, that he was about to come.

Arthur carefully slid it out of him and watched Severus come right then, essence shooting out just behind the sound.

He undid the handcuffs right away. "How was that?" he asked after Severus seemed to come back to reality.

A Dark Mark-bedecked arm reached for his red Weasley hair and pulled him down for a blisteringly hot kiss.

"Where on earth is that strawberry lube?" asked Severus.

Arthur groaned as his still-hard prick was covered in the stuff and Severus put the handcuffs on him.

Severus never complained about Arthur's love for Muggles again. Or at least not much.
