Slash Meme Table Thing
Teh Big Slash meme
Read and/or write? YES.
Since when? Oh God, read since 2002, wrote since 2003 if RPing counts. If RPing doesn't count, I've written since . . . 2004.
How did you stumble into slash? Mediaminer.org, Pokemon fan fiction. I think it was Ash/Butch.
Your first fandom and pairing: My first OTP? Het would be Jessie/James from Pokemon, and Slash would be Andy/Mark -- two OMCs I once had, for Harry Potter fandom. As for actual characters, the closest I got to a slash OTP was . . . Harry/Draco, I guess, just because there was so much of it.
The first person you told about your new hobby: Probably Eowyn, my best friend from sophomore and junior year.
The fandoms you read: Harry Potter, The Road to El Dorado, Invader Zim, whatever currently tickles my fancy.
The fandoms you write: Harry Potter, The Road to El Dorado, Recess.
Your favourite pairings: Oh God. Snape/Arthur, Snape/Filch, Snape/James; Tulio/Miguel.
Favourite genres: Humorous Romance, Rape Hurt/Comfort.
Least favourite pairings: Harry/Sirius, Remus/Sirius, Snape/Harry, Draco/Harry, Ron/Harry, etc.
Least favourite genres: Parody, Dark fic with no light at the end of the tunnel.
What makes a story good? Interesting pairings or kinks, a reasonable length.
What makes a story bad? Too long, odd AU, bad characterization.
The best author: Nehalenia
Why? She could make me come with her dirty dialogue alone.
The best story you've ever read: The Miseducation of Severus Snape
The worst author: I refuse to dignify this with a response. It's all relative, and all in the eye of the beholder.
Why?
The worst story you've ever read: See above.
The best story you have written: I tend to think my latest ones are the best, but Shallow Cowards came out of nowhere, so I'm going to say probably Good, If You Let It Be. It's my first try at the ever-taboo scat.
The worst story you have written: Slash? Probably "Sufficiently Not a Homophobe" -- gained a bit of fame for that, negative fame. Het would be "The Educator".
Do you leave feedback? Almost every time.
Do you get feedback? Most of the time.
Do you have a favorite kink? Rape H/C or bestiality.
Does something squick you? Torture with no "Comfort" after. Pointless torture, basically.
Is slash simply sex? Zomg no. I don't think I've written a slash fic that I would feel was just about sex.
Is slash a way of life? YESSSSSS!
How much time do you spend reading/writing? Oh my God. Like at least an hour a day.
Do you have RL friends who slash? I feel slow. It took me a long time to get what this meant. No, I don't know any real life slashers, besides myself.
Have you made online friends through slash? Hundreds.
Do you think slash is just a phase? No, it's here to stay.
Could you simply stop slashing? No.
What do you think about...
Ratings G to PG-13 Okay.
Ratings R to NC-17 YEAH!
AUs *gags*
ARs Can be alright if it's only slightly AR.
Crackfics If they're done TRYING to be cracktastic, like, in a joking way, I don't like it. If it's serious, I love it.
Porn NOM NOM NOM.
Angst As long as it's not overdone, I love it.
Mush See above.
Love PLEASE!
Romance When appropriate.
BDSM Usually like it.
Darkfics If it has some sort of lighter ending, I love it.
Deathfics Depends on whether or not the death is canon.
Non consensual/rape As long as it's not completely brutal torture, I like it.
Rape recovery OMG YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!
FPS
RPS
RPG
First times Yes!
Established relationships When appropriate.
Threesomes Depends on who, but usually I like.
m/m slash Yes.
femmeslash Yes.
Slashing a children's book/movie WHY NOT?!
Chanslash Depends.
Explicit sex Yes.
The importance of charactarization Pretty damn important. I'll let it slide a little bit, but it has to be at least a LITTLE based on the character.
OOCness Not too much, please!
Canon Good.
Fanon Good, unless way too cliched.
Cliches Depends on which ones.
Supernatural ?
MPREG Okay.
Wingfics . . .
Genderfuck YES!
Crossovers No. No, no, no!
Group Slut Fics . . . Yes?
Incest Yes.
May/December Yes!
Het pairings in a slash fic I just don't like "extra" pairings in the background at all.
Plot Needs to be believable.
PWPs Sure!
WIPs Ugh. I'd rather not read one, but if it's really good I'll keep up with it (or at least try).
LJ fics and communities You mean IJ, right? *winks* They're win.
Mailing lists
Big Name Fans Ugh.
Politics in a slash story Kind of annoying.
Religion in a slash story Whatever. I don't care either way.
Wake up Gay LOL No I don't like those.
And finally....
Your pet peeve: 85-chapter-long fics.
Your advice to new slashers: Try to expand your pairing horizons.
Your slash wish list: Snape/Arthur, Snape/Sirius, Mundungus/Sirius, Sirius/Albus.
The best slash archive: Thin Line
The worst slash arcive:

CREATE YOUR OWN! - or - GET PAID TO TAKE SURVEYS!

I was about to ask you if you still like H/D and then saw the answer to Least Favourite Pairings. XD

Oh, The Miseducation of Severus Snape. I loved that fic!

I wanted to do this meme last week but got lazy. So typical of me.

Haha yes, I don't really go for them much. I also don't like Hermione/Draco anymore or Snape/Hermione -- those were my first two het Potter OTPs.

Miseducation makes me cum every time.

Your pet peeve and my pet peeve are the same. I just can't read something that long. I have a short attention span. Lol!

lol! I'm not really into reading, except for fanfiction, so reading a huuuuuuuuge fic is not my idea of fun. *gags*

I don't understand why or how someone would write such a long fic! I can understand if the chapters are all drabbles, but if they're actual, actual chapters, omg WHY?! It's like . . . they're taking up internet space to bore us to death. No pairing -- except maybe Snarthur -- could get me to read an 85-chapter-long fic.

Yay for anti-worship-of-long-fic. I always feel so inadequate that I can't do it, because that's "the real stuff" that people actually want, it seems. Something has to be really good to get me to devote hours of reading time to it (♥ Sindie's "The Moment it Began" Severus/Lily AU -- sounds like something you would hate, lol). I feel bad when I see people say things like they don't want to waste their time on anything less than 10k.

I hated "Miseducation". Or rather, I couldn't believe what I was reading. It terrified me but I couldn't stop. I kept screaming in my head, why, why, why are you doing this to my beautiful Severus? Stop it, stop it, STOP IT!!! I like a little psychological horror (especially with themes of insanity, e.g., "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" is one of my favourite plays), but that's the only fic I've ever read that actually made me physically ill.

I love Neha's dialogue too. Rawr!

You hated Miseducation? Oh I just love, love, love the description. The pictures she paints with her words are so great. "an arse like a red satin heart", the hole "twitching as he brushed it, pouting as he rubbed" or something like that. And, oh my God, when Sirius tells him, "Spread your butts. Show your hole," I just, ooo,God, I just want to marry the writer! And Sev had a huge prick, and passed out most of the time when he orgasmed, and Voldemort had a long tongue that he stuck down the prick . . . *just dies*

Yeah, too... I dunno... low? Dirty talk is fine, but for me it has to be a certain type of dirty talk. Call it astrology, I dunno, Mars and Venus in Libra, but I like sex to have a certain aesthetic to it. ;) And abuse really doesn't do it for me. I especially have a low tolerance for abuse of Severus. :-/ *shrugs* Each to their own.

Ooo, the more crude the talk, the better, to me. And I *cough* love a good dub-con Snape rape. I really, really do. I also like non-con Snape rape with him getting comforted afterward.
